I'm a teacher, a parent, a facilitator, and a voracious reader.
I teach English/Language Arts because the people who saw me the most clearly in my youth were always English teachers. I dream of fulfilling that role for my students.
I care about my students as individuals with needs, hopes, and struggles. I express my love for them through attention, compassion, differentiation, and humor. They can feel my regard for them. These relationships are the foundation of my practice.
As a teacher, I prioritise curiosity over judgment. When students struggle academically or when their behaviour doesn't meet expectations, I approach them wondering what they need and how to support them.
